Silly Straws

Occasionally Jared and I get a little crazy. Last night was one of these nights. For his birthday I found these silly straws. These straws could be described as K'nex but with straws. The goal is to have separate starting points for each straw. As the maze continues it should meet in the middle but at the end separate again so the drinks could be drunk. The only way to describe these straws is from the pictures.

Notice how serious we both look. It takes a lot of concentration to suck with enough power to get the beverage through the complex maze of straws.

To break in our sophisticated straws we decided to make ice cream floats. I made mine with a cream soda and strawberry ice cream mix. Jared went with the root beer and chocolate fudge ice cream mix. The mixture of the two completely different floats was heavenly. At times we could both taste strawberry and at other times only the chocolate. Then at other times we both tasted the different flavors. We tried to scientifically figure out why the different flavors traveled at the rates, but our experiments had no definite conclusions. We will save that mystery for the next time we whip out our silly straws.
