A visit from the In-Laws

Last weekend Jared's parents came to town. We are really lucky to be living in a place where everyone wants to visit us. Flagstaff is gorgeous and the temperatures are a relief from summer heat. As I write this blog it is 68 degrees outside, cloudy with a 40% chance of thunderstorms.

While his parents were here we visited Sedona, drove through the Painted Dessert and the Petrified Forest National Park, cruised the old Route 66, celebrated Jared's birthday, gorged ourselves on mouthwatering pies and had time to relax. The best way to describe their visit is through a plethora of pictures.

We hiked Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona.

Overlooking the Painted Dessert, just outside of Flagstaff (and
yes we did wear almost matching shirts the whole weekend).

Petrified wood found in the Petrified Forrest National Park.
This wood has slowly been replaced by rock and minerals over
millions of years. It is hard to believe until seeing it up close.

A closeup of the crystallized rock that once was wood.

While cruising the old 66 we found one of the original sites of
Cozy Cones where Doc Hudson was staying the night.

Overlooking all of Northern Arizona at the Snow Bowl.
We just love our almost matching shirts.

My favorite picture I took this weekend.

We celebrated Jared's birthday with a Strawberry Chocolate
Ganache Layered Torte. Happy Birthday!!!

  1. The torte looks amazing...almost as amazing as your coordinating closets. I miss you, Janina.
